Home Theater & TV Installation
Big picture, real surround sound, and no wires on the wall.
Movie night at home
You dim the lights, press one button, and the movie starts. The picture is big and sharp. The sound comes from all around you, not from a thin bar under the TV. There's no hunt for remotes, and nothing dangling below the screen.
Some families want a true theater down the hall, with a projector, a big screen, and rows of seats. Others want the living room to look great at 2 p.m. and come alive at 8. Most people are somewhere in between: a bonus room for the kids' games and Sunday football, or a basement that finally gets used. We build for the room you have and the way you watch.
The experience we build
The lights fade, and the room disappears.
One touch dims the lights, closes the shades, and starts the movie. The room goes quiet and dark, and all that's left is the screen.
A picture that fills your view.
The image is huge, sharp, and rich, with deep blacks and bright, true-to-life color. Every seat gets the full picture, sized and placed so you never strain to see it.
Sound that surrounds you, and moves over you.
With Dolby Atmos, rain falls from above you and a helicopter passes overhead and behind you. Every word of dialogue stays clear, even at low volume.
Bass you feel in your chest.
Deep, tight bass rolls across the room evenly, so every seat feels it, not just the one in the middle.
A room that sounds like a theater.
Acoustic treatment makes the sound clean and focused instead of echoing, and less of it reaches the rest of the house.
Every seat is the best seat.
Seating, sight lines, and speaker aim are planned together, then tuned for where you actually sit.
Beautiful, even with the screen off.
No visible wires and no clutter. The equipment is hidden away, so the room looks like it was always meant to be there.
Simple enough for anyone at home.
Kids, guests, and grandparents can start movie night without a lesson or a call to us.
A screen as big as the wall.
Turn an entire wall into one seamless, brilliant picture, bright enough to watch with the lights on and the shades open. Game day, movie night or a slow-changing work of art, indoors or out on the patio.
A TV that disappears into a mirror.
When it's off, it's simply a beautiful mirror. Turn it on and the picture glows right through the glass, so a bathroom, bedroom or living room gets a TV without a black rectangle on the wall.

Why homeowners call us
A great theater is more than great equipment. The screen is sized for where you sit, the wiring disappears into the walls, and every speaker is aimed and tuned for your seats, so the room looks finished and works every time you press play.
If you're building or remodeling, we work alongside your builder, architect, or designer so the wiring goes in before the drywall. We're trusted by local builders including Tenhulzen Construction, JC Enterprises Construction, Bakstad Construction, and Berg Construction.

Reviews
“I recently had High-Tech Living do a home theater installation in my new house, including in-wall speakers, wiring, and a wall-mount for my TV. They were outstanding through all phases of the job! I couldn't be happier with the look and function of the in-wall speakers, and everything was installed very professionally and using good quality components and workmanship. Nick was very helpful with the design process, and gave me a very detailed quote. When it came to the actual install, he showed up exactly when he said would, answered all of my questions, and was very professional. And all for a price that was more reasonable than any other contractor I talked to. I'd definitely recommend Nick and High Tech Living to anyone thinking about a custom home theater install!”
“Nick and his team helped us build a enhanced 4K home theater and mount a TV to a porcelain coated interior wall. Both projects were challenging as we have very limited attic area which makes wiring very difficult and the porcelain coated wall makes drilling very tricky. Nick came over several times to inspect the area and the condition of the walls and prepared multiple solutions for us to choose from. He also provided us with very professional advices to help us choose the right equipments to go with, which saved us a lot of money. Once we finalized the plan, he ordered the equipments quickly and finished the project in one week. His team did the job so good that we almost see no wire and no hole in the room. He also worked overtime to help us hook up several devices and troubleshoot some issues we found later. We are very happy with the work he and his team did.”
“Just an all-around positive experience from start to finish. Excellent communication (which is something that has been a struggle working with other companies). Ariez was my main point of contact and he did an amazing job setting up our new 4K short throw projector, organizing all of our surround sound and getting our super fast internet set up throughout the house. Nick, the owner, was great to work with as well. Highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again in the future!”

Home Theater questions, answered
How much does a home theater cost?
It depends on the room and the equipment you choose, so the range is wide. A well-done system can start at a few thousand dollars, and a fully custom theater can go as far as you want to take it. We design every system around your budget and how you want the room to work: how it looks, sounds, and feels, and how you want to control it. After a free consultation, you get a written proposal with the full price, so there are no surprises.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. It's one visit where we look at your room, talk through how you watch, and share ideas and options. Larger projects that need a detailed design move into a paid design phase, and part of that design fee can be credited back if you move forward.
Do I need a dedicated room for a home theater?
No. Many of our clients get a great experience in a living room, family room, or bonus room. A dedicated theater is a wonderful upgrade, though. When the room is built just for movies, we control the light, sound, and seating completely, so you see, hear, and feel each film the way the studio intended, just like at the theater.
How long does installation take?
Every system and every room is different. In a multipurpose room, installing a TV and surround sound usually takes one to three days. Dedicated theaters take longer, depending on construction and wiring. When we sit down to put your proposal together, we write up a scope of work and give you a clear timeline.
Should I get a projector or a big TV?
It comes down to light and size. A TV stays bright and sharp with the blinds open, so it's usually best for a living room or a sports-and-gaming room. A projector gives you a much bigger, more cinematic picture in a room you can darken. Some families do both: a TV for everyday and a projector for movie night. We'll look at your room and tell you honestly what will look best.
How big should my screen be?
It depends on how far you sit, so we measure from your main seat. The goal is a picture that fills your view without making you turn your head. Room shape matters too, and so does whether it's a TV or a projector. A projector screen can go much larger than any TV, which is why dedicated theaters often feel so big.
Can you just mount my TV and hide the wires?
Yes. TV mounting is one of our most common jobs. We find the studs or add backing, mount the TV level and at a comfortable height, and run the cables inside the wall so nothing hangs below the screen. Brick, stone, and tile walls are fine. We'll also make sure power and your streaming box or cable box have a clean home.
Can you mount a TV over the fireplace, or hide it when it's off?
Yes, both. Over a fireplace, we often use a pull-down mount like MantelMount so the TV comes down to eye level for movie night and tucks back up after. If you'd rather not see a TV at all, there are many ways to hide it, including a lift, a cabinet, or a motorized mount. We'll check the wall, heat, and wiring first.
Do I need in-wall or in-ceiling speakers, or is a soundbar enough?
A soundbar is fine for a bedroom or small room, but for real surround sound, built-in speakers win. Surround puts speakers around you, so voices stay clear and effects move through the room. We usually put the front speakers in the wall near the screen and the surrounds in the wall or ceiling, aimed at your seats. Add a subwoofer for bass you can feel.
Where does all the equipment go?
Out of sight, but easy to reach. Depending on the room, that might be a cabinet near the screen, a closet, or a rack elsewhere in the house. We plan airflow and cable paths so the equipment stays cool and the room stays clean. We also build in AV furniture, like Salamander cabinets, and hide subwoofers in cabinetry when floor space matters.
Can you install a theater in a house we already live in?
Yes. Most of our theater work is in finished homes around Seattle, the Eastside, and Snohomish County. We fish cable through walls, attics, and crawl spaces so you don't see wires, and we patch only small openings. Some houses are trickier, like plaster walls or vaulted ceilings, so we look first and give you options before any work starts.
